Congratulations to Hui-Ling “Kelly” Wang, founder and instructor of Green Stone Coffee Academy, on winning Third Place in the Taiwan Preliminary Round of the 2025 Yunnan Coffee Roasting Competition.
This marked Kelly’s first participation in the coffee roasting competition organized by Yinian Yisu Estate (一念一粟莊園) in Yunnan.
Competing against roasters in the Taiwan division, Kelly demonstrated her roasting and sensory skills and successfully finished in third place, earning the opportunity to advance to the next stage of the competition.
Following the Taiwan preliminary round, Kelly will travel to Nanning, Guangxi, to participate in the Grand Final and compete and exchange ideas with top-performing roasters from other regional divisions.
For Green Stone Coffee Academy, participating in professional roasting competitions is not only about rankings. It is also an opportunity to continually challenge our roasting techniques, sensory judgment, profile development, and adaptability with different coffees and equipment.
These real-world competition experiences also become part of our professional coffee education, allowing us to bring new perspectives and practical insights back into the classroom.
