SCA CSP Foundation and Intermediate Coffee Roasting Certificate Course (4 days Courses)

Date: 4 days (can be one day a week or 4 consecutive days)

Course time/ per day: 7 hours

Tuition Fee: NT$40,000 (Original NT$45,000)

Exams: Both online written exams, and practical exams, pass all of them, you can get two international coffee certificates of Roasting Coffee!

Course objectives:


From the understanding of green coffee bean materials, to understand the concept of heat system (types of heats, heat conduction method) used in coffee roasting, to understand the basic structure and safe operation of the roaster, to understand the key points of the roasting process stage diagram, and to actually be able to operate the roaster. 

Basic roast coffee beans.

Foundation: Beginner

Recognize terminology (describe the roasting machine and its operation in general terms and the changes of coffee beans during the roasting process)


A. Component names and functions of the roaster


B. Understanding of the roasting process

C.Physical Changes in roasting beans 

   Build profile curve (including BeanBon proofing)

D. Safety and maintenance

    Common hazards in the roasting process
̇    Cleaning and maintenance

E. Identify the flavors and aromas of different developed coffees
   (Diedrich2.5 and Toper1.0 roaster teaching)

Intermediate: 

F. Roasting Profile Deep Dive ̇ Measuring Density and Moisture Content with Bean Pink

Collect and analyze the variables of roasting data to understand the impact of different data on flavor {sample design} {development time} on flavor

G. In-depth exploration of chemical and physical changes

    Dehydration period
    Chemical Reaction
    Caramelization reaction ̇ Effect of development time on flavor

H.ROR heating rate basics

I. Thermodynamics and Roaster Element Construction

J  Heat Transfer ̇ Sample Baking

K. Sensory evaluation of coffee roasting

L. Security and Planning

How to familiarize yourself with coffee storage knowledge

Certification Exam 

Exam Duration: 45 minutes (online test)
Skills : 90 minutes (on-site roastinging exam)
